Wahoo!! You found it. This is my little corner of the internet. I'm Dakota Wagner. Runner, coach, occasional sufferer of 100-mile races. If you like running, thinking about running, or reading about someone who thinks about running way too much, you're in the right place.

ABOUT ME

I ran cross country and track through college. After graduation I did what any reasonable person would do: I signed up for a 24 hour indoor track race and got absolutely cooked. That was it. I was hooked.

Since then I've finished 20+ ultras including three 100-milers, raced internationally, and run 6 road marathons. I also coach runners at every level through Plains to Peaks.

MY RUNNING PHILOSOPHY

Things I actually believe:

  • Mileage will get you 80% of the way there.
  • Consistency beats heroics every single time.
  • The training plan should fit your life, not the other way around.
  • The road and the trail teach each other things. Do both.
  • Above all else, do what you enjoy. The rest will take care of itself by osmosis.

I built a little app called ClimaBingle — a weather webhook for Strava. Once it's hooked up to your account, it automatically updates your activity descriptions with the weather from your run. No more wondering if it was actually that windy. It was. Now that's fax.
